Do I need a visa to enter Mexico?

In principle and generally, yes. It would be necessary for any person who is a foreigner to obtain a visa to enter Mexico, however, there are exceptions for those foreign nationals who hold a passport or have a valid visa from some countries or regions.

Although there are different conditions for staying in Mexico, today we are referring to the need for a visa for foreigners who wish to enter Mexico as a visitor without permission to perform paid activities, which allows entry into the country for tourism and/or tourism purposes. or business.

Mexico has entered into a large number of international treaties through which it has agreed to eliminate visas for different countries and/or regions, this in order to allow easier access for nationals of the countries that we will mention later, but also so that Mexican nationals can have easy access to the same countries and/or regions.

What are the countries that do not need a visa to enter Mexico?

Whether you are a national with a valid passport or have a visa from the countries mentioned in the following table, you may enter Mexico as a visitor without permission to perform paid activities for a period not exceeding 180 days.

The period of time that is authorized by the National Institute of Migration when the foreigner enters Mexico, which may not be greater than 180, cannot be extended or renewed while inside Mexico, so the foreigner must leave the country and return later to obtain a new period of up to 180 calendar days.

It should be noted that there is no minimum period of time to wait to re-enter Mexico after leaving a period of 180 days or less. However, the fact that someone delivers and leaves the country on multiple occasions, even if it is only for tourist purposes, could cause the immigration authority to question the reason for these constant entries into the country, and in case they are not If the argument is convincing, they may deny access to the person.
