Who is responsible for your data

Vega Guerrero & Asociados, S.C. (“Vega Guerrero”), with its address at Calle Sierra Fría 413, Fracc. Bosques del Prado Norte, 20127, Aguascalientes, Ags., Mexico, is responsible for the personal data you provide through vegaguerrero.com and the contact channels listed on it.

What personal data we process

We only process the data you choose to share with us, depending on the channel you use:

• Contact form: name, email, company, job title, phone, practice area or service of interest, and your message.
• Voice notes: the voice recording you send from the website, together with your name, job title, company, phone and email. The recording is used only to understand your inquiry; it is not used to identify you by your voice.
• WhatsApp, email and phone: the data you share with us in the conversation.
• Browsing the website: the page you contact us from, the campaign or ad that brought you to the site (when applicable), language, IP address and technical data about your browser and device (see section 5).

We do not request sensitive personal data. Please do not include it in your messages or voice notes. If it were needed to handle a matter, we will request it separately and with your express consent.

Why we use your data

Necessary purposes

These purposes are necessary to handle your request and, where applicable, the professional relationship:

• To handle and respond to your inquiry or request for advice.
• To route your inquiry to the appropriate practice area and attorney.
• To contact you to follow up on your request.
• To check for possible conflicts of interest before accepting a matter.
• If a professional relationship is formalized, to provide the contracted services and comply with the resulting obligations.

Additional purposes

The following purposes are not necessary to handle your request, but help us improve our service:

• To send you legal updates and invitations to the firm’s events.
• To measure the effectiveness of our ads and campaigns and improve the website.

If you do not want your data used for any of these additional purposes, you may say so at any time by writing to andrea.aguilera@vegaguerrero.com. Your refusal will not affect how we handle your request.

Who we share your data with

To run the website and handle your request we rely on providers that process data on behalf of Vega Guerrero and under our instructions, such as the website hosting service, the email service, WhatsApp and Google (Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads).

When necessary to handle your matter, your data may be shared inside or outside Mexico with other firms or professionals collaborating on it, such as Vega Guerrero’s office in the United States, and with experts related to the matters in which you are represented. Recipients assume the same obligations set out in this notice.

Other than these cases, we will only share your data with competent authorities when required by law. We do not sell or assign your personal data. If you do not want your data shared on the terms of this section, write to andrea.aguilera@vegaguerrero.com.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses cookies and similar technologies to work properly, remember your preferences and measure its use:

• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: to understand, statistically, how the site is used (pages visited, time on site, device type and approximate location).
• Google Ads: to know whether a visit or an inquiry comes from one of our ads.
• Browser storage: to remember your accessibility settings (for example, text size) and the campaign that brought you to the site, so we can tell which ads generate inquiries.

You can block or delete these technologies in your browser settings. The website will keep working, although some preferences will not be remembered.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as needed to handle your request and, where applicable, the professional relationship, and afterwards for the periods required by applicable law. After those periods, the data is securely deleted.

Your rights and how to exercise them

You have the right to know what data we hold about you and how we use it (access), to have it corrected if it is outdated or inaccurate (rectification), to have it deleted (cancellation) and to object to its use for specific purposes (opposition), known in Mexico as ARCO rights. You may also revoke the consent you have given us and limit the use or disclosure of your data.

• Your name and a way to send you our response.
• A document proving your identity or, where applicable, that of your representative.
• A clear description of the data and the right you wish to exercise.
• Any document or information that helps locate your data.

We will respond through the same channel within the periods set by law. Please note that revoking consent has no retroactive effect and that, in some cases, the law requires us to keep certain data.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated due to changes in the law, in our services or in how we run the website. The current version will always be published at vegaguerrero.com with its last-updated date.

If you believe your right to personal data protection has been violated, you may contact the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno, the competent authority under Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties.
